After a lot of waiting, Lionel Messi is set to play his first match for his new club Inter Miami as the Flamingos take on Cruz Azul on July 21 at DRV PNK Stadium in the Leagues Cup 2023. For witnessing the 2022 World Cup winner, the ticket sales have been through the roof with many of these tickets making it to the secondary market with some astronomical prices.

For Messi's debut fixture, the average ticket price is $487 with the highest ticket being available for $28,435 on Vivid Seats. Similarly, for Messi's second game, the ticket prices skyrocket to $110,339 with the lowest being at $148. Whereas ticket prices for Leo Messi's Major League debut have seen a 900% rise with Inter Miami's match against Charlotte FC averaging at $288.
Like the footballing has been excited to witness Messi in the United States, Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham has also found it difficult to contain his excitement during the Argenite's presentation. Beckham spoke about how he had dreamt about bringing global footballing icons to Inter Miami and helping grow the sport of football in the USA.
Beckham said, “Ten years ago, I started my journey to build a new MLS team. said then, I dreamt of bringing the best players in the world to South Florida and to the great city to Miami. Players who shared our ambition to grow soccer in this country."

He further described Messi as an amazing person and welcomed him to the Inter Miami family. “We are so happy that you are all here to celebrate this incredible moment, a moment that will be watched around the world, as a truly great player and amazing person joins our family,” Beckham added. “So please forgive me for feeling a little bit emotional tonight because it really is a dream come true. So welcome, Lionel Messi, to Inter Miami.”
