In the first T20I match between India and Australia, Australia ended up losing this game by two wickets despite posting a huge total of 208/3 in 20 overs. Josh Inglis smashed a stunning century (110), while Steven Smith's brilliant fifty (52) helped them to go past a 200-run total on board. Indian team in reply went onto chase 209 runs with the help of stunning 80-run knock from the skipper Suryakumar Yadav and solid fifty (58) with the bat from Ishan Kishan also.
Here, in this article we will see what the Australian skipper Matthew Wade spoke in post match presentation after their loss against India in 1st T20I game.
Matthew Wade (Losing Captain): This was a very good match at the end. Josh Inglis got us to a total of 208/3, which we thought was a defendable total but unfortunately Indians came very hard on us. These young Indian players used to play a lot of IPL and T20 cricket and that was key-factor for their success today. I thought we bowled pretty well, but just couldn't nail those yorkers perfectly which isn't an easy task on such a small ground. Josh Inglis innings looked very classy and apart from it there were lot of positives to take out from this game. I think we did fairly well as the game went down to last ball of the match, which shows how close this game was. Special mention to Nathan Ellis who bowled a big over for us to take this game into the final over.
