Indian recurve team comprising Tarundeep Rai, Dhiraj Bommadevar, and Pravin Jadhav defeated Korea for the first time to win a gold medal after 14 years. On the other hand, Deepika Kumari, who returned to an international event after December 2022, went home with an individual silver in the Archery World Cup Stage 1 in Shanghai on Sunday. The men’s team defeated the Korean team comprising Lee Wooseok, Kim Je Deok, and Kim Woojin 5-1 (57-57, 57-55, 55-53).

Indian team beats Singapore in second group match in Uber Cup 2024

Indian team consisting of young and inexperienced shuttlers took down Singapore in their second-round clash of the Uber Cup 2024. Indians defeated their counterparts with a commanding 4-1 victory on Sunday in Chengdu, China. Later, the Indian men’s team took down Thailand in the Thomas Cup with a scoreline of 4-1. With their win, the women’s team made it to the quarterfinal of the esteemed tournament. After Ashmita Chaliha lost her opening round, the Priya Konjengbam-Shruti Mishra duo dominated the court. The win was later extended by Isharani Baruah, Simran Singhi-Ritika Thaker duo, and Anmol Kharb.

Rafael Nadal defeated Alex de Minaur to register one of his best wins at the Mutua Madrid Open 2024 on Saturday. The Spain great clinched a statement 7-6 (6), 6-3 win over his counterpart, which marked his first win against a Top 20 opponent in the PIF ATP Rankings since the 2022 Nitto ATP Finals. After the game, he denied that old Rafa was back and said, “No, not yet. It needs time. I think for moments it has been a good level of tennis. I was able to do positive things, but still on and off.”

Jannik Sinner credited his parents for moulding a positive mindset and strong work ethic. He said, "I went to a couple of tournaments when I was younger – 16 or 17 – and I lost. And afterwards, I called my parents and I wanted to explain what happened. And they said, 'Yeah, OK, but we have to talk later because we have to work now, OK?” He added, "At that point, I understood that obviously, results matter, but what really matters is trying to work hard, waking up and going to work and doing it with a smile. My parents always came home and smiled. So that’s what they gave me: a really positive mindset with a really good work ethic.”

Rafael Nadal shared her support for the Spaniard’s victory in the second round of the 2024 Madrid Open. The 22-time Grand Slam winner kicked off his potential final appearance at the ATP Masters tournament with a 6-1, 6-0 win over 16-year-old Darwin Blanch to set up a second-round with Alex de Minaur. Nadal’s sister joined their mother Ana Maria and Rafael’s wife Maria Francisco Perello to cheer for him during the game. She also shared a picture of him from the clash with a few emojis.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah broke the silence on his alleged verbal spat with Reds' manager Jurgen Klopp during the 2-2 draw against West Ham. Playing at the London Stadium, Liverpool once again dropped points as they fell behind in the title race. The Hammers opened the scoring with Jarrod Bowen, who netted his 20th goal of the season. In the game, the Egyptian came in with 11 minutes and failed to make an impact as Liverpool settled for a 2-2 draw. After the game, Salah was asked about that incident and was quoted saying, “If I speak there will be fire,” by Joao Castelo-Branco.

Chelsea players storm referee after final whistle against Aston Villa

Moments after their Premier League clash against Aston Villa ended in a 2-2 draw at Villa Park, the Chelsea players stormed the referee for disallowing their late winner courtesy of Axel Disasi. In the post-match, Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, labelled the referee Craig Pawson “unbelievable” and called his decision “ridiculous.” While talking to TNT Sports, Mauricio Pochettino was far from pleased about the dying seconds of the match, and said, “The referee is unbelievable and it's ridiculous. It is difficult to accept these types of things in the semi-final (FA Cup clash against Man City) two weeks ago it was handball and it was no penalty, the referee didn't check it.”

Antonio Conte reaches agreement to become new Napoli manager on three-year contract: Reports

Antonio Conte has reportedly reached an agreement with Napoli to become their new first-team manager on a three-year contract from the next season onwards. Notably, the 54-year-old was heavily linked with a move to the Italian clubs Napoli and AC Milan before agreeing to make his managerial return with the Naples-based club. The Italian broadcaster RAI reported via Calcio Napoli 24 about Napoli reaching an agreement with Antonio Conte to manage the club after a breakthrough in negotiations about the financial side of things.
