However, as the name suggests, I S PL boasts of some rules that are not known in professional cricket, instead, they are highly used in street crickets across all over India and the world.  One such new introduction to professional cricket in the ISPL is the Tape-Ball over.

Tape-Ball over suggests that a team is allowed to use the Tape-Ball for one or a maximum of two overs in an innings. Tape Ball is quite popular in the streets of Pakistan, and it is just a normal tennis ball that is covered with tape on its one side, which makes the ball smooth from the one side.

The use of tape at one side results in the ball getting more swing than the normal tennis ball and the teams can benefit from it to break the partnership or to curb the run flow in an innings.

Some new major rules in the ISPL 2024

Along with the tape-ball over, ISPL also consists of some new rules that resemble the street cricket rules that are used widely around the world.

Some of the new rules that caught the attention of the fans include Tip-Top Toss, where captains of both teams are placed at a certain distance and then they cover the distance using the tip-to-toe method. Whoever puts his toe first on the opposition will win the toss.

Apart from that, 9-street runs and the 50-50 over are the new rules that are introduced in the ISPL 2024.
