After opting out of the five-match Test series against England in India due to personal reasons, veteran batter Virat Kohli has finally revealed the cause for his withdrawal from the red-ball series. The power couple of Virat Kohli and Bollywood star Anushka Sharma was blessed with a baby boy on February 15 and the pair named their second child, 'Akaay', which has two different meanings in Hindi and Sanskrit languages.
After the 35-year-old Kohli pulled out of the first two Tests against England, the BCCI released a statement regarding the RCB star's participation in the remaining three Test matches. "Virat Kohli will remain unavailable for selection for the remainder of the series due to personal reasons. The Board fully respects and supports Mr. Kohli’s decision,” the BCCI statement read.
Virat Kohli took to his Instagram handle on February 20 and announced the birth of his second child with wife Anushka Sharma. The couple already have a two-year-old daughter named Vamika. Virat and Anushka asked for privacy on his social media post and wrote, "With abundant happiness and our hearts all of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay & Vamika's little brother into this world!
We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this time. Love & Gratitude. Virat & Anushka."
What is the meaning of the name 'Akaay'?
The name of Virushka's second child is 'Akaay', which is a Hindi word that has a Turkish origin. The name means "Illuminating light of the full moon". However, Akaay has a different meaning in Sanskrit as it means something that is without a form or body. The word 'Kaay' has been derived from the Sanskrit word 'kaaya', which means body.
