Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was last seen playing for his national team in the three-match T20I series against Australia in September 2022, and post that he missed out on playing an important event of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 due to a back injury. When Bumrah was about to get included in the ODI series against Sri Lanka in January 2023 he was ruled out due to injury once again without playing any matches.
In March 2023 he underwent back surgery in New Zealand which made him miss out on IPL 2023 and WTC 2023 Finals also. Bumrah also missed out on playing in the Asia Cup 2022.

Bumrah is in NCA after surgery for his back recovery currently. The medical staff in NCA are very optimistic that Bumrah will recover soon and would be available for the Asia Cup which is set to happen in around two months' time. As per reports from ESPNCricinfo, it is understood that Bumrah has been doing physiotherapy and started light bowling workloads which would increase gradually as the days' progress.

However, fans might have a concern about the BCCI rushing Bumrah to play in a very short span of time as earlier in the 2023 ODI series against Sri Lanka he was in the original squad, which unfortunately aggravated his injury concern and his injuries may affect his bowling action in the future as well.
