There are more than thousands of stories on how Virat Kohli is going through a rough patch, how the batter has not scored an international century in the last two-three years, and how he is struggling to stay at the crease. Kohli might not have read all of them but with so much talk around his form, the batter also knows what’s going on. Although he keeps on saying that it’s outside noise, Kohli does pay heed to the talks about him.

Now, the batter has broken the silence and has talked about his poor form. Kohli has explained his side of the story and has revealed what is going through his head amid this tough phase. The 33-year-old said that although he is not getting the desired results, he feels his batting has no issues. Kohli also said that he is well aware of his abilities and knows how consistent he can be once this phase is over.

“What happened in England was a pattern, so something that I could work on, something that I had to kind of overcome. Right now there is nothing that you can point out saying that the problem is happening here. So, that for me is actually an easier thing to process because I know that I'm batting well. And at times when I start feeling that the rhythm is back then I know that I'm batting well,” said Kohli on Star Sports show Game Plan.

“I know where my game stands and you cannot run this far in your international career without having the ability to counter situations and counter conditions and counter different kinds of bowling. So, this for me is an easier phase to process, but I don't want to put this phase behind me.

I want to learn from it and I want to understand what are the core values that I have as a sportsperson and as a human being. As long as I'm ticking those boxes, I know there are ups and downs, and when I come out of this phase, I know how consistent I can be,” the star batter added.

Notably, Kohli is making a comeback to cricket after missing two national tours (West Indies and Zimbabwe). He will now represent India at the Asia Cup 2022. As Kohli is back from a long-due break, he was also spotted shadow practicing a cut shot.
