The much-awaited ICC ODI World Cup 2023 schedule has been announced and the fans are excited to see their home team perform well against top teams. Here in this article, we will see which teams they will play based on the standings they finish at the points table.

In ICC ODI WC 2023, overall a total of 45 matches would be played in the group stage and based on points table standings top-4 teams alone will qualify for the semi-finals out of 10 teams. If the hosts fail to finish in the top-4 position in the points table standings then they won't qualify for the WC 2023 semi-finals.

If India finishes as table toppers then they would play a fourth-placed team in the points table of ODI WC 2023. While if the Men in Blue, finish in second position in the points table then they would play a third-placed team.

If the 2011 champs finish in third position in the points table then they would play second placed team. While if Team India manages a fourth-position finish in they would play the table toppers of ODI WC 2023.

If India qualifies for the semi-finals then they would play the first semi-final of the tournament in Mumbai unless they play Pakistan. The semi-final against Pakistan would be played in Kolkata.

India has a very good chance to play semi-finals against either Australia, England, New Zealand, (or) Pakistan. These four teams have a good chance to perform well on Asian soil against strong teams. However, South Africa and Sri Lanka could emerge as dark horses of the tournament but it will be interesting to see how teams like Afghanistan or Bangladesh would perform as underdogs.

In the 2019 WC (same round-robin format), India ended as table toppers and faced New Zealand last time in the first semi-final game.
