Meta’s new micro-blogging and a rival of Twitter, Threads has been ruling the internet since its launch on July 6. The new social media platform allows its user to post up to 500 characters with individual or carousel photos and videos on their feeds. So with countless famous personalities signing up on the new platform, many of our favourite cricket players have joined Threads.

From India, top batting stars like KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant have joined and already have 26.5K and 26K followers respectively. Unlike Rahul, Pant has already shared three posts on the new platform, including one where he hopes that people can enjoy their time on Threads without hurting anyone.

Pant shared, “Let’s create a thread for everyone to join in a welcoming way and see. That includes @zuck 😊😊 . And get as many people as possible in a same thread. We all can welcome on same thread. Let’s try this public and respected people 💕💕 make it a big one”

Similarly, wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has joined the Threads with a bio stating, ‘Proud Indian, Cricketer, car enthusiast and dog lover. Talking about women’s cricketers. Indian star opener Smriti Mandhana has signed up on the new platform with 22.5K followers at the time of writing. Joining her best friend Smriti, fellow Indian batter Jemimah Rodrigues also joined threads and shared a post about once again playing international cricket.

While speaking about international cricketers, Australian captain Pat Cummins has signed for Threads. In one of his posts, Cummins had a congratulatory message for his teammate Steve Smith, who will be playing this 100th career Test match as England takes on Australia in the third  Ashes Test at Headingley.

The post said, “Congratulations Steve Smith on 100 test matches for Australia. Not only a champion cricketer but a champion mate too. Here’s to a great week in Leeds and hopefully we can celebrate again at The Oval in a few weeks time!”
