On September 15, India C pacer Anshul Kamboj scripted history during the Duleep Trophy 2024 clash against India B. The sides locked horns at the Rural Development Trust Stadium B in Anantapur, where Kamboj destroyed the star-studded India B batting unit to help his side take a first-inning lead. While the match ended in a draw, India C got critical three points to maintain first spot on the standings.

Kamboj delivered a historic spell and picked eight wickets while conceding only 69 runs. With this, the bowler became only the third pacer in history and first in 12 years to take an eight-wicket haul in the Duleep Trophy. Before him, Debasis Mohanty and Ashok Dinda were the only two names who had recorded the feat in 2001 and 2012, respectively. Mohanty achieved the feat in a clash between East Zone and South Zone, where he picked 10 wickets while conceding 46 runs. On the other hand, Dinda recorded the figures of 8/123 in the clash between East Zone and North Zone.
