Jeffrey Vandersay, the Sri Lankan leg spinner, picked up a six-wicket haul in the second ODI of the three-match series against India at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The famous spell of leg spin bowling from Jeffrey Vandersay, the replacement for the injured Wanindu Hasaranga, helped Sri Lanka defeat India by 32 runs while defending a 240-run total.

The experienced Sri Lankan bowler picked up the key wickets of the captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill in quick succession after their opening stand of 97 runs. Following this, Jeffrey Vandersay took four more Indian wickets quite cheaply, which included names like Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Shivam Dube.

Although Jeffrey Vandersay hasn’t had consistent chances in Sri Lankan colours during his nine-year international career, he is a regular feature in the national squads in limited-overs cricket. The leg spinner has done the majority of his work in the first-class circuit in Sri Lanka while playing for multiple club teams.
