Rescuing the 2016 champions, a local boy, Nitish Kumar Reddy stepped up to score a valiant 64 in 37 balls with four fours and five sixes at a strike rate of 172.97 and helped Hyderabad post a total of 182.

Nitish Kumar Reddy has been considered one of the brightest prospects in Indian cricket and also received backing from Andhra captain Hanuma Vihari. Reddy was first signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2023 auction. Nitish Reddy burst onto the scene as he won the Jagmohan Dalmiya Trophy, conferred upon him for being the star of the U16 circuit at the BCCI annual awards 2017/18 ceremony.

Talking about his cricketing abilities, Reddy can finish off the games with the bat and bowl at a useful medium pace. The 20-year-old has played 17 first-class matches and 22 List-A matches so far. He has an excellent List A record where he averages 36.63 with the bat and has a strike rate of 95.27.
