Pratham Singh, who is currently playing for India A in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024, has scored an unbeaten half-century against India D. On Day 2 (September 13), India A resumed their batting effort in the first innings with 288/8 on the board. They were bowled out for 290 as they managed to add only two runs on the second day. In reply, India D only managed to score 183 all-out as only Devdutt Padikkal (92) managed to breach the fifty-run mark.
With a lead of 107 runs, India A have already started to assert their dominance as their skipper Mayank Agarwal (56) and Pratham Singh (59*) scored a fifty each. The former was caught and bowled by Shreyas Iyer before stumps were called on Day 2. Singh is unbeaten on 81 as of writing and must be eyeing his second first-class hundred. In February this year, the right-hander scored 169 not out while playing for Railways against Tripura. Before the stumps were called, India A had amassed 115/1, taking a lead of 222 runs.

The 31-year-old was born on August 31, 1992 in Delhi and he plays for Railways at the domestic level. Before the senior Railways team, he represented them in the U19 side. Notably, the opening batter was part of the now-defunct (non-functional) Gujarat Lions a few years back. During the mega auction 2022, he became part of IPL 2024 title winners, Kolkata Knight Riders.
He was picked at the base price of INR 20 Lakh but didn’t get to play any match for the three-time IPL winners. He didn’t play a single game for Gujarat Lions as well.
