Simarjeet Singh is one of the newest recruits of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, and he started the tournament with a bang. The right-arm pacer took the wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag in the first over of his spell in the power play stage during the opening match for SRH in the IPL 2025 against Rajasthan Royals (RR), putting the opposition firmly on the backfoot in pursuit of the 287-run target.

After being a part of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the last two IPL seasons, taking nine wickets in 10 matches, Simarjeet Singh was released by the five-time IPL champions. But, in the mega auction ahead of the IPL 2025, SRH management believed in his potential of bowling at speeds in excess of 140 kmph on a regular basis, rushing the batters in their shots, and it led to them acquiring his services for INR 1.5 Crore.

Before making an instant impact in SRH colours in the IPL 2025 opener against RR, Simarjeet Singh has grown in stature at the domestic level over the past couple of years. In his T20 career, the pacer has taken 42 wickets in 35 matches at an average of 20.97 and an economy of 7.78, while his 23 List A matches has yielded him 23 wickets at an economy of 5.39, while he is expected to improve his 38.73 average in times to come.
