The 2018 World Cup runners-up Croatia beat Morocco 2-1 to finish at third place in FIFA World Cup 2022 on Saturday. Croatia took an early lead at the seventh minute after defender Josko Gvardiol scored the first goal.

 

To level things up, Moroccan centre-back Achraf Dari levelled two minutes later in the nineth-minute. Before the things turned, Mislav Orsic scored in the 42nd minute to put Croatia on the front foot. The opening goal-scorer Josko Gvardiol won the Player of the Match later was awarded the Player of the Match.


The 20-year-old defender netted with a leaping header after Luka Modric’s cross to put his side in front against Morocco in the third place match at the FIFA World Cup 2022.

 

Talking about the run this far, Croatia were defeated at the hands of Argentina in the FIFA World Cup 2022 semifinal 3-0, whereas Morocco were beaten by defending champions France. The two finalists will go head-to-head on Sunday (18 December) at the Lusail Stadum.
