Cristiano Ronaldo , the Portuguese football superstar, has broken records after records on YouTube after launching his channel, called “UR Cristiano,” on the platform on August 21. In one of the videos on his new YouTube channel, the 39-year-old remarked that he named the channel “UR Cristiano,” because it resembles “You are,” symbolising a sense of family.

Notably, shortly after launching “UR Cristiano” on YouTube, Cristiano Ronaldo became the fastest to one million subscribers within one and a half hours before reaching the 10 million subscribers mark in just 12 hours. The current number of subscribers on Cristiano Ronaldo’s YouTube channel is 47 million, which is quite a high number for a channel going live in the first five days.

In a video titled “Discover EVERYTHING about us: Who will win?,” Cristiano Ronaldo explained the reasoning behind naming his YouTube channel “UR Cristiano,” and said, “UR (You are) is the way to call people to be on our side, to feel part of the concept.” His wife, Georgina Rodriguez, said, “I think it's a really fitting name, especially coming from a platform named YouTube, U(You) R(Ronaldo), so it fits perfectly.”

Notably, after launching his YouTube channel, Cristiano Ronaldo took to his official X account, to let his fans know about it. In a post accompanied with a video, he wrote, “The wait is over. My @YouTube channel is finally here! SIUUUbscribe and join me on this new journey,” coupled with the link to his YouTube channel.

The clip had Cristiano Ronaldo saying, “I am very happy to make this project come to life. It has been in my mind for a long time, but finally, we have the opportunity to make it real.”
