Netizens flooded X with memes as KKR’s bowling unit including Mitchell Starc demolished SRH’s batting lineup in the IPL 2024 Qualifier 1. Shreyas Iyer-led side who became the first team to qualify for the playoffs clashed against SunRisers Hyderabad on May 21, Tuesday, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The winner of the match would directly make it to the finals, whereas the losing team would meet the winners of the eliminator in the qualifier 2 of the season.
On Tuesday, SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and invited the counterparts to field first. The Orange Army who emerged as one of the most lethal sides of the season lost their most powerful batter Travis Head off a brilliant Mitchell Starc delivery on the second ball of the innings. The 2016 winners lost their other opener Abhishek Sharma in the second over. KKR went all out in the game and destroyed their rivals’ batting lineup within no time.
Mitchell Starc, who became the most expensive player in the history of the tournament, scalped three crucial wickets for the side. Fans took to social media to react to the game, sparking a meme fest on X.
Rahul Tripathi became the SRH’s highest run-getter in match against KKR, scoring 55 runs in 35 deliveries.
