However, the next day, on February 20, Rohit Sharma-led Team India kickstarted their Champions Trophy 2025 campaign as they took on Bangladesh on Group A fixture at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

With the Men in Blue coming into the tournament after a 3-0 series win over England, they will be hoping to continuing their winning run in the 50-over format, eyeing to lift the coveted title. Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakravarthy misses out; Harshit Rana and Md Shami returns

Speaking after losing 11th toss in a row, starting from 2023 ODI World Cup final, Rohit Sharma said, “I would have fielded first. We have played a few years back here so we felt the ball comes on better under lights. All looking good. Everyone is fit and fine to go. Let's hope we start well. There is no looking back, every game becomes very important in this tournament.”

When asked of the combination, the 37-year-old added, “only Varun misses out from the last ODI we played, Jadeja comes back, Arshdeep misses and Shami comes back.” It is to be noted that Varun Chakravarthy was dropped from the India XI in last ODI, while Jadeja was rested.
