In the second match of the double-header Sunday on April 13 in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Delhi Capitals (DC) are hosting five-time champions, Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. However, both teams are coming off contrasting tournament so far, the Axar Patel-led DC will aim to continue their winning streak whereas MI will hope to get back to winning ways.
Ahead of the match, the two skippers took the field for toss. The hosts skipper Axar Patel returned victorious and elected to bowl first, thus inviting the visitors to put the score first on the board. The DC all-rounder added that as it is the first match of the season at the Feroz Shah Kotla, the conditions of the pitch aren’t much known.
Faf du Plessis misses out due to injury in DC’s Playing XI vs MI
When enquired about the team combination, Axar Patel confirmed a forced change following Faf du Plessis’ injury in the side’s previous game. The DC skipper revealed that Faf is injured and thus misses out. In his place, DC included Abishek Porel in their lineup with Darshan Nalkande, Karun Nair, Sameer Rizvi, Donovan Ferreira, and Dushmantha Chameera being named the impact substitutes.
On the other hand, MI are going with their same playing XI as in their previous match against RCB in Bengaluru.
