In the first match of double-header Saturday in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are hosting the IPL 2022 winners, Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. However, both teams are coming on the back of a comfortable win in their respective previous matches, they will be vying to continue their winning streak with the tournament taking its shape with at least five to six matches being played for each of the teams.
As the two young skippers walked out for the toss, it was LSG captain Rishabh Pant who came out on top, thus inviting the visitors to put the score first on the board. “We are going to bowl first. The wicket looks good, Happy to win the last two matches. As a team, we talk about the process and the team is responding well now. Bowlers have done a really good job, we have to give credit to them,” Pant said after electing to bowl first.
Mitchell Marsh misses out to to daughter’s illness; Himmat Singh replaces him in LSG XI
When asked about the team combination, the LSG skipper confirmed that the side will be without their star opener Mitchell Marsh, who has been on a prolific run recently. Pant said, “Instead of Mitchell Marsh, Himmat Singh comes in. His daughter is not well.”
However, LSG will miss the services of Marsh at the top of the order, Gujarat Titans (GT) also called in for a change in their XI with Washington Sundar coming in place of Kulwant Khejroliya.
