Mumbai Indians are taking on Kolkata Knight Riders in match number 12 of IPL 2025 at Wankhede Stadium. Looking for their first win of the season, MI have asked KKR to bat first after winning the toss. This means that Quinton de Kock, Sunil Narine, Ajinkya Rahane will be seen in action with the bat shortly.
However, KKR didn’t include Moeen Ali in their playing XI against MI at Wankhede. The English allrounder came as a replacement for Sunil Narine in the last game against Rajasthan Royals as the opening batter didn’t make it to the playing XI due to illness. In that game, Moeen ended up taking two wickets with the ball but couldn’t do any wonders with the bat as he only score five runs coming as an opener.
Moeen Ali sits out as Sunil Narine returns in KKR line-up against MI
After missing the last game, Sunil Narine is back in KKR’s playing XI in the match against Mumbai Indians. With this, Moeen Ali, who came as his replacement has been benched again with Narine’s return.
“We wanted to bowl first as well but I was confused looking at the wicket, generally Wankede is a good batting surface so I feel it's a good toss to lose. There's a little breeze going on, no dew factor to deal with. We will look to post a good total on the board and I have confidence in our bowlers to defend. We are playing good cricket, every games gives a good opportunity to play good cricket. Lovely ground, we are looking to play good cricket. Sunil comes in in place of Mooen,” KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane said at the toss.
