After Chennai Super Kings confirmed one of IPL 2023 final berth, the three teams in Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants are still in contention to seal the other place. While Hardik Pandya-led GT will get another chance, the winner of the ongoing Eliminator between LSG and MI will get a step closer to the trophy as they see GT in Qualifier 2.

However, in the ongoing match between LSG and MI, the in-form player in wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock was dropped from the XI. What was more shocking was he was also not named a substitute (Impact Player) in the all-important do-or-die match. Although the exact reason of this decision is not known, neither has the team management nor the officials have put out any statement on the same.
It is also to be seen if the South African batter has sustained some injury during the net sessions. Earlier in the match, Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bat first. However, it was not the ideal start for the five-time champions as they lost their first wicket in skipper Rohit Sharma inside the powerplay.
