In match number 30 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are hosting the five-time champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Monday, April 14. Although, both teams are coming off contrasting results in their previous matches respectively, the MS Dhoni-led side will hope to overturn their recent results and get their first win after five straight losses.
As the two skippers walked out for the toss, it was the visiting captain, MS Dhoni of CSK , who came out on top. With the toss going his way, MS Dhoni invited the hosts to bat first. “We want to bowl first, there's chances of dew here. The wicket gets better in the second innings,” MS Dhoni said.
R Ashwin and Devon Conway misses out; Jamie Overturn and Rasheed come in
When asked of his team combination for the match, the 43-year-old confirmed couple of changes in the side. MS Dhoni revealed that Ravichandran Ashwin and Devon Conway misses out and Jamie Overturn and Shaik Rasheed come in. “We have a couple of changes. Overton and Rasheed come in for Ashwin and Conway,” he said.
On the other hand, LSG also saw a change as Mitchell Marsh returned after missing the last match due to his daughter’s illness. On his return, Himmat Singh was left out.
