On Friday, April 4, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are hosting five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 16th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. However, the two teams are coming off contrasting results in their previous matches as MI defeated defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by eight wickets, LSG were handed a drubbing at the hands of Punjab Kings.

For the unversed, MI skipper, Hardik Pandya came out on top in the toss battle against LSG skipper Rishabh Pant at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on April 4. Soon after winnignthe toss, Hardik opted to bowl first, thus putting the hosts to put the score first at their home ground in Lucknow.

"We are gonna bowl first. Looks like a fresh wicket. Not sure how it is going to play. Looks a decent track. Dew might come in later. Thought better to chase,” Hardik said after going with his call at toss. When enquired about the team combination, Hardik said, “Rohit was hit on the knee. He is missing out.”

Furthermore, when questioned about star pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s return, he quickly replied, “Jasprit should be back soon."
