Indian captain Rohit Sharma confirmed that batting star Virat Kohli will not feature in Team India's T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up match against Bangladesh. Playing at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, the Men in Blue won the toss and elected to bat first as they prepare for their opening World Cup match against Ireland.
The Men in Blue are slotted in Group A alongside the USA, Canada, Ireland and Pakistan and kick off their campaign against the Irish on June 5. Ahead of the start of the tournament, India take on Bangladesh in their only warm-up game where Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first.

The Hitman also revealed that Virat Kohli, who reached New York on May 31, will not participating in this fixture. Speaking at toss, Sharma said, "We will bat. Not for any particular reason, conditions here look a bit challenging. Virat has just arrived yesterday, he's going to miss out, the rest are all available and we'll see how to use them. We arrived quite early, so the body clock has adjusted, we just have to see how well we can adjust to these conditions."
