Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has been sporting the number 7 jersey for both country and club since making his International debut. The number 7 jersey has been donned by football legend Cristiano Ronaldo also in the sporting arena hence the jersey has become a big brand over the world.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni in a virtual interaction held by India Cements stated that it has nothing to do with superstition and he choose the number 7 just because he was born on the 7th of July. Since he was born on date of 7th and in the 7th month (July) he considered choosing jersey number 7. He also told that 7 is a very neutral number and notably he was born in 1981 and 8-1 is 7 too.

Dhoni quashed rumours who stated that he was too superstitious and considered 7 to be his lucky number and all that. Currently, for all CSK fans, it remains mysterious whether MS Dhoni would be seen in IPL 2024 (or) not but there have been a lot of talks going on to retire jersey number 7 after his retirement.

MS Dhoni after playing international cricket for a period of 14 (or) 15 years from 2004-2019 and announced his retirement on 15th August 2020 at 7:29 PM. Dhoni has won five IPL trophies and three ICC trophies as a skipper in his cricketing career. CSK after coming from a two-year ban in 2018, performed brilliantly by winning three titles in 2018, 2021, and 2023 and also they ended as runners-up in 2019.
