The second edition of the Legends League Cricket kicked off on Saturday with a match between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants. As advertised, fans expected Gautam Gambhir to lead India Capitals while Virender Sehwag was to lead Gujarat Giants. However, at the toss, everyone found out that Gambhir won’t be playing the first match of LLC 2 as Jacques Kallis walked out for the toss.

There was no explanation given either about why Gambhir is not a part of Saturday’s fixture. This also led to speculation among fans if Gambhir was unavailable for only one game or if he will miss the whole tournament. An official announcement from LLC or India Capitals is still awaited while confusion among fans grows deeper and deeper.

Many shared tweets asking why Gambhir was not playing the match. A few looked disheartened as well.

Notably, this is not the first instance where LLC organizers have taken fans by surprise. In the showpiece match played between India Maharajas and World Giants, Ashok Dinda made an appearance out of nowhere. Also, it looked like there was no physio available on the ground.

Coming to the game between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants, it looks like a cracker of a game with both teams playing quality players. While India Capitals have got the likes of Mitchell Johnson and Liam Plunkett, Gujarat Giants have got Mitchell McClenaghan and Ashok Dinda.
