Punjab Kings’ batter Shashank Singh is looking confident for the franchise to perform well in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2025. Shashank was among the only two players along with Prabhsimran Singh to get retained by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. After that, PBKS formed a completely new squad and picked some star cricketers for the upcoming edition. They also appointed Shreyas Iyer, who led Kolkata Knight Riders to the title last year as their captain for IPL 2025.
Apart from that, PBKS also backed Shashank Singh, who has been impressive with the bat in the last season. In his latest podcast with Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel, Shashank claimed that PBKS will finish at the top of the points table in IPL 2025. “Punjab Kings No. 1. It’s not like I’m in Punjab Kings, so I am saying this. Punjab Kings one finish karega points table par. Top-2 mein Punjab Kings finish karega, uske baad SRH is a very good team; RCB is good, and one out of MI or CSK will finish in the top four,” Shashank said.

Speaking further, Shashank Singh also spoke about Prithvi Shaw and hoped for him to make a strong comeback. He took his Prithvi’s name along with Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shubman Gill as the next superstars of the Indian cricket team.
“Yashasvi (Jaiswal) for sure ek bada naam hai (is a big name). Shubman (Gill) is a very talented player. There’s Prithvi Shaw. Agar vo back to basics aa jaye toh I think koi bhi near nahi hai uske,” Shashank said.
“I have known him for 13 years. We have played club cricketer together in Mumbai. He has a different point of view of things; he knows what is right and what is wrong, but as of now, if he changes his point of view, then I think usse bada koi cheej he nahi hai. Attitude, work ethics, fitness, discipline – he must be doing it. I am 100% sure that he is so professional; he has played Test cricket. He must be doing it, but maybe if he modifies those things, then it will be better for him,” he added.
