The five-time champions, Mumbai Indians (MI) have been handed a massive boost ahead of their IPL 2025 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium, scheduled for Monday, April 7. In what comes as a positive news, pace spearhead, Jasprit Bumrah has joined the MI camp in Mumbai and will hope to overturn the team’s result with his presence.

However, there was a bright cheer in the MI camp seeing Bumrah back, his participation in the match against the Bengaluru-based franchise still remains under cloud. Earlier, during MI’s last match against LSG at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, skipper Hardik Pandya also was left excited when asked of Bumrah’s return as he said, "Jasprit should be back soon."

In the video shared by the franchise, Bumrah’s wife and sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan lended her voice to announce her husband’s return in a story-telling manner. However, he has joined the side, he is expected to miss out on the playing XI for the upcoming game.

Earlier, according to a report published by ESPNcricinfo, Bumrah will continue to sit on the sidelines in the upcoming match, while his likely return is scheduled to be in there next match where MI will take on Delhi Capitals (DC). However, a clarity on if the pacer has received complete fitness is yet unknown, but earlier it was reported that he was close to taking final tests in Bengaluru.

Speaking of the franchise, MI are reeling in the bottom half of the IPL 2025 points table. After having played four matches, MI have registered only one win, which came against the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
