Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood will miss the first half of the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League. Hazlewood is set to be away as he is expecting the birth of his child in March. The Aussie new-ball bowler wasn't fully available for the previous IPL season where he represented the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

In 2023, Hazlewood played only three games and picked up three wickets as he was nursing Achilles tendonitis from the Border-Gavaskar Series in early 2023. The former Chennai Super Kings star was sent home from that tour to get ready for the remainder of 2023.
Speaking to the Age, Hazlewood opened up about his IPL 2023 season and said: "Everything is ticking along according to plan, so I'll be heading over on the 14th (of April) depending on how the next two weeks go. I probably won't be quite ready to go right then, but (after) another week in India to touch things up skills-wise wise I should be ready to go hopefully."
