Sebastian Vettel, the former multi-time F1 world champion, has revealed information about talking to multiple Formula One team bosses, in recent times, which prompted him to consider a comeback to the sport. Notably, the German had announced his F1 retirement in July 2022, and his last race in the sport came at the end of that season in Abu Dhabi.
During his illustrious Formula One career, Sebastian Vettel had 299 starts, winning 53 races and 122 podiums, along with 57 pole positions. Most of his successes in the F1 came in his six seasons with Red Bull from 2009 to 2014, winning the driver’s championship four times, while his six seasons with Ferrari were fruitful as well.
After finishing his F1 career with Aston Martin, Sebastian Vettel admitted to missing the sport in his recent interview with Sky Sports News. He also revealed his talk with Toto Wolff, the Team Principal of Mercedes, and said, “I am speaking to Toto. I don’t know if that qualifies as Mercedes, but about other things.”
“I’m talking to a lot of people because I know them, but not very specific. It (return) does cross my mind, I do think about it, but it’s not the main thought,” he added.
Sebastian Vettel also remarked about his family vis-a-vis a potential return to F1. He commented, “I have three kids at home, it’s busy every day, so there’s a lot of other thoughts I have. There are ideas that I have. Events that I’m planning going forward, so I did speak to a lot of other team principals as well, and not only about racing. There’s thoughts, but nothing concrete at the minute.”
