After Cody Rhodes won the second straight men’s Royal Rumble match, he made his intentions clear about challenging the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania once again. With that, the highly anticipated match between The Rock and Roman Reigns, which was teased by the Great One to kick-off the year 2024, suddenly became an afterthought.

But, as per the reports, WWE are still planning to have The Rock compete against his cousin Roman Reigns in the year 2024. Although, there is no clear indication as to when or where the two of the biggest stars of the WWE will have the singles match in the next few months.
During an episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio, the journalists Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed the latest details around The Rock versus Roman Reigns.
Dave Meltzer was quoted as saying, “It is going to be Cody and Roman Reigns in a singles match (at WrestleMania). A Dwayne and Roman Reigns match, whenever it is, is still happening. I just don't know where. And Bryan, you may know where, because you probably know discussions that I may know too and I can't talk about them but anyway, the point is that it is still happening.”
Notably, Roman Reigns is likely to lose his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania to Cody Rhodes, putting an end to his historic title run. It could lead to The Rock challenging Roman Reigns in a singles contest for the “Head of the Table” spot, which is one of the most important things for the Samoan family lineage they proudly belong to.
