After losing five of their last 11 matches across all competitions in 2023, the Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi could consider sacking head coach Christophe Galtier due to the club's back-to-back failures in the European football. Reportedly, former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is the primary target to replace Galtier at PSG.

With a 1-0 loss against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League 2022-23 Round of 16, first leg at the Parc des Princes, PSG lost their third straight game across all competitions. Earlier, PSG were knocked out from the Round of 16 stage in the Coupe de France after their 2-1 loss against Marseille at the Stade Velodrome last Wednesday followed by their 3-1 Ligue 1 loss against Monaco at the Stade Louis II on Saturday.
RMC journalist Daniel Riolo said as per Marca, "It is hardly conceivable to continue with (Galtier). He disappointed a lot and lost the thread. PSG are a club that need to win. We are in an unprecedented situation here. Every year it gets worse and worse. Galtier is under a lot of pressure, and the next two games against Lille and Marseille will decide a lot of things. Especially if the end of the season is going to be complicated or not. But it could well be that the club will part ways with Galtier.
Riolo slammed Galtier and stated that he 'is devoured by the status of the players' while he also criticised the PSG stars for not displaying a high-level game. He added, "There is no coaching in this team. We have a coach who is strictly useless because he is devoured by the status of the players, by the stars he is obliged to play but who are no longer at the level.
"I imagine that, not knowing at all what to do, not being able to tell his players to press because they are not used to doing so, he told himself that everyone would stay back, wait as long as possible and if ever in the second half Mbappe felt he had to come back, wait for a counterattack. It's not a game project."
Meanwhile, Spanish TV show that features football debates and current affairs around the sport, El Chiringuito revealed that PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi's primary target to replace Galtier is Zinedine Zidane.
"The replacement, if a tragedy occurs in the Champions League against Bayern Munich, is Zinedine Zidane, with whom the club has been talking for some time," the Spanish TV show claimed.
Additionally, reports have emerged that PSG stars Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr could move away from PSG at the end of the season as the 35-year-old Argentine's contract will end in the summer and he could move to the MLS side Inter Miami FC-owned by David Beckham. On the other hand, the Brazilian forward's contract with PSG is until 2025 but the French champions have reportedly transfer listed him amid Chelsea interests.
