Meanwhile, an interesting incident has come to light when a couple of Pakistan cricket fans highlighted it on social media. Notably, Pakistan’s prolific all-rounder Nida Dar, unknowingly went on to ball seven deliveries in an over, which left the cricket fans baffled and fumed. However, what made it more interesting is the fact that over’s seventh delivery went on for a boundary, in favour of India.
Although, there is no official comment from the ICC over the incident, but it would be interesting to see how the referees would take that. Meanwhile, Indian cricketers produced a thrilling performance on Sunday as they started their T20 World Cup campaign on high. After restricting Pakistan to 149 in the first innings, Team India got the perfect start as the openers added 38 runs for the first wicket.
However, Jemimah Rodrigues’ knock was a major takeaway for Women in Blue as the talented batter smashed a brilliant 53* off just 38 deliveries in the match. She got much-needed assistance from wicket-keeper batter Richa Ghosh who stayed unbeaten at 31 in just 20 balls. For Pakistan, skipper Bismah Maroof (68 off 55) and Ayesha Naseem (43 off 25) made instrumental contributions. Rodrigues was adjudged Player of the Match for her crucial knock in the game.
