In one of his interviews with The Straits Times recently, Carlsen revealed that Malone was born to an American father and Norwegian mother and after growing up in Oslo, she moved to Singapore.
FIDE also won’t keep silent, at least I won’t: FIDE CEO Emil Sutovsky slams Magnus Carlsen for remarks on Viswanathan Anand
Recently, FIDE CEO Emil Sutovsky slammed Magnus Carlsen for his controversial remarks about legendary Viswanathan Anand. Carlsen had said that Anand wasn’t fit for the role of the Deputy President of the FIDE. His remarks didn’t sit well with Sutovsky, and he launched a scathing attack on Carlsen. He said, “It is funny how some platforms/streamers downplay the 'we can just keep making draws' case. Exactly as they downplayed Magnus’ attacks on Vishy 3 days before. As it did not happen.” He added, "Of course, now they will try to shift focus or pretend it was just a joke."
Sutovsky continued, "The entire PR strategy is in play. So, first you own part of the major platform/company, then you employ influential people on your projects, then you invite players to the Tour you own based on your judgment, and then all these quasi-independents are on your side, and you can sort of do whatever you want. Social Media can’t be controlled, and it is all the rage. FIDE also won’t keep silent. At least I won’t – and I am there to stay for quite some time."
