The Charlotte Hornets star, LaMelo Ball, who was ruled out of the NBA regular season due to an ankle injury this past January, has been making the most of his time on the sidelines. The NBA Rookie of the Year in 2021 got his entire back inked with a unique space-themed tattoo, invoking a plethora of reactions from fans on X.
As per the report from TMZ Sports, the tattoo on LaMelo Ball’s back was done by his go-to guy Herchell L. Carrasco aka RockRollG at the Pachuco Tattoo. It featured his signature phrase “Rare” in black and red written across the top of his back, while the word “One” is underneath it.
The artwork had an alien’s face on LaMelo Ball’s lower back, with his number 1 in the middle of the alien's head, along with the UFO on the back of his neck with the word “LaFrance,” his lifestyle brand. Lamelo Ball also got the back of his arms inked, which included crosses on his elbows.

Moreover, across the last two NBA seasons, Lamelo Ball played only 58 games for the Charlotte Hornets due to repeated ankle injuries. After signing a five-year contract extension in July, the 22-year-old was averaging a career-high 23.9 points per game this season, but his progress was cut short due to yet another ankle injury.
