The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been nothing short of exemplary in its first three weeks, providing a lot of entertainment to the fans with its thrills and spills. In the early stages of the IPL 2024 season, there have been a lot of big names delivering top performances with the bat, ball, and in the field, but, at the same time, a few top players have been unable to live up to their reputation.

Openers: Jonny Bairstow, Devdutt Padikkal
Jonny Bairstow, the Punjab Kings opener, has scored 96 runs in his six innings during the IPL 2024, at an average of just 16, and his dismissals have been a loft left to be desired. Devdutt Padikkal has been in woeful form with Lucknow Super Giants, scoring 25 runs in his five innings, at a woeful average of five, and his highest score in the tournament is just nine runs.
