The UP Warriorz team management’s decision to promote Kiran Navgire to open led to her smashing a fifty against a highly impressive MI-W bowling lineup, apart from decent contributions from Alyssa Healy, Grace Harris, and Deepti Sharma, which helped them chase down a total over 160 with ease. In the bowling side of things, the Warriorz had all their five bowlers pick up a wicket each, to restrict Mumbai Indians Women to a par total.
Meanwhile, the batting lineup of Gujarat Giants are yet to post a total of over 130 on the board in the WPL 2024 season with no substantial contribution from the batters apart from a few 20s and 30s. The lack of scoreboard pressure hasn’t allowed the Giants bowlers to get into the game despite the good spells from Ashleigh Gardner and Tanuja Kanwar in particular.
