The World Wrestling Entertainment in its latest Facebook post has put up a teaser for a massive spectacle of a comeback match for The Great Khali. While he had not wrestled for three years, Khali was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame earlier in 2021. At 49 years of age, he is not likely to have an extended run but could be seen making cameo appearances.
It is being anticipated that the WWE fans would want to see the 7 ft 1 inch tall star making a comeback in the circuit. WWE has teased the match with tags like "Guru vs Shishya" in a contest where Khali will be seen against Dilsher Shanky.
Check out the Facebook post:
Much like Khali, his opponent Shanky is also over 7 ft tall but is just 30-years-old and has a long career ahead of him.
Earlier in a short video posted on Khali's Instagram handle, he is asked about his views on visiting Pune and as he is answering the question, a man could be seen not only interrupting him by sitting beside him, he even turns the camera towards him and starts answering the questions himself.
The man in question then starts listing his own achievements and tell the interviewer to focus on him rather than striking a conversation with Khali. However, Khali then gets up from his seat and hilariously slaps the man.
Here is the video:
Notably, Khali represents the rare breed of Indian superstars who have made it big in pro wrestling and enjoys a 2.6 million follower count, sheerly through his achievements in WWE. The Punjab-born wrestler had made his WWE debut after WrestleMania 22 where he targeted The Undertaker. The two of them had first competed at Judgement Day 2006 where it was the Great Khali who had the last laugh over the Dead Man.
Later, Khali faced 16-time WWE champion John Cena at Judgment Day and One Night Stand. However, he was the loser on both occasions. Arguably his finest moment came in 2007 when he won the World Heavyweight Championship in a Battle Royal on SmackDown.
