After the announcement of the relaunch of the American football league, XFL on February 18, 2023, the league has revealed the team names and logos for it's eight franchises on Monday. The league has introduced a new team San Antonio Brahmas  while two teams including Houston Roughnecks and St. Louis Battlehawks remained the same for the 2023 season.

Dany Garcia, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and Gerry Cardinale’s RedBird Capital are the new owners of the XFL after they purchased the league for $15 million in 2020. On July 24 this year, XFL announced eight host cities for the 2023 season .

In an official release, XFL Chairwoman and Owner, Dany Garcia said, "Each team’s identity represents the fabric of their local community while also embodying the XFL’s vision and ethos: they are authentic, dynamic, modern, and unapologetically bold. We can’t wait to see our XFL fans representing their favorite XFL teams this upcoming season."

  1. Arlington Renegades: The team is formerly based in Dallas, which is now rebranded as Arlington.
  2. DC Defenders: Earlier known as Washington, the league has rebranded it as DC.
  3. Houston Roughnecks: The Houston-based franchise remained the same.
  4. Orlando Guardians: The team have been moved from New York to Orlando for the 2023 season.
  5. San Antonio Brahmas: The Brahmas are the latest entry to the XFL 2023, branded as San Antonio.
  6. Seattle Sea Dragons: The franchise was formerly known as Seattle Dragons and now rebranded as Seattle Sea Dragons.
  7. St. Louis Battlehawks: This is the second franchise to remain unchanged.
  8. Vegas Vipers: The Vipers moved from Tampa Bay to Vegas.

The league is scheduled to kick off six days after the conclusion of Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona.
