The Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal revealed his conversation with the Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar after he scored a match-winning double hundred in the second Test against England. The 22-year-old stated that Sachin Tendulkar congratulated him on his milestone while advising him to keep working hard on his game to maintain consistency in batting.

On Day 4 of the second Test match at the Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, where India managed to defeat England by 106 runs, defending the 399-run total successfully. With that, the Indian cricket team levelled the five-match Test series at 1-1 after they had lost the first Test by 28 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 209 in the first innings of the second Test for India, to help the hosts reach a good total of 396 runs. He batted through the entirety of Day 1, going into Day 2, becoming the third youngest Indian batter to get a double century in Tests.
When the left-handed batter was asked on JioCinema about the post from Sachin Tendulkar on X, he revealed his conversation with the Indian cricket legend. He said, as per India Today, “I spoke to Sachin Tendulkar as well. He congratulated me and told me to keep working hard the way I am. He told me that it's an important time for me and that consistency is very important. Thank you for sir's wishes. I always admire him as my idol.”
The third Test of the five-match series between India and England will be played at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot from February 15 onwards.
