The first Test of the five-match series, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 is well poised with the opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul adding to their first innings lead of 46 runs on Day 2 at the Optus Stadium in Perth. After the Indian bowling attack restricted the hosts, Australia to 104, courtesy a five-wicket haul from stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah, the opening pair of Jaiswal and KL Rahul kept the scoreboard ticking.
On day two of the ongoing Test in Perth, Yashasvi Jasiwal was seen sledging Australia pacer Mitchell Starc. The moment came just a few overs prior to Tea on Day 2 with Jaiswal batting at 37 and Starc bowling his sixth over in the second India innings.
You are coming too slow: Jaiswal sledges Mitchell Starc
Coming into the attack to bowl the 19th over, Starc opted to go for a full-length delivery just outside off stump. This delivery tempted Jaiswal to drive on and went for an expansive shot. Just after Starc was hit for a boundary, he gave a quick stare to the Indian batter. In return, Jaiswal stood firm, hitting the the next delivery with a confident shot and responding, “You are coming too slow at me”.

However, his wasn’t the first time in the ongoing series that Mitchell Starc was involved in fun banter with an Indian cricketer. Earlier in the day, Starc was seen warning Harshit Rana in the opening Test in Perth.
Speaking of Jaiswal, the Indian batter is hoping to overturn his first innings knock. The Indian opener, who was dismissed for an eight-ball duck, saw him make some amends as he scored a half-century in the second inning, adding to India’s lead of 46-run lead. At the time of writing, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 51 runs off 131 deliveries at a strike rate of 38.93. He is well supported by KL Rahul, who is batting at 42 off 115 deliveries.
