Former India star and member of the 2011 World Cup winning squad, Gautam Gambhir has undoubtedly been one of the most aggressive players on the ground. The recent altercation with Virat Kohli at the Lucknow Super Giants vs Royal Challengers Bangalore is a solid testament of that. Currently a part of the Lucknow Super Giants squad as a mentor in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League, Gautam Gambhir is one of the players who have never shied away from speaking their hearts out and it is one of the reasons for his rifts with names like Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. However, a vigorous player on the field, Gambhir is one of the most generous persons off it, and his actions speak for it. Former Indian cricketer Rahul Sharma has shared another example of his generosity on his Twitter.
Having made his first-class debut against Rajasthan in 2006, Sharma took to Twitter to thank Gambhir for financially assisting him for his mother-in-law’s operation. Sharma said that his mother had suffered brain haemorrhage and was in critical condition. It was the LSG mentor that helped him by providing the best neurologist and hospital in a short time. He also added that the surgery has been done successfully and his mother-in-law is doing fine. Sharing the health update of his mother-in-law, Sharma tweeted, “Thank you @GautamGambhir paaji you r the best ❤️⭐️🫶🏻”
Notably, the former India pacer’s career was short-lived. He made his debut for India in a One-Day International game against West Indies in December 2011. Rahul played his last IPL for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2014. Speaking of Gautam Gambhir, his team Lucknow Super Giants went down to Gujarat Titans in their last clash on May 7, Sunday and are currently occupying the third spot on the points table.
