The future of Kylian Mbappe at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) remains uncertain as the star striker and the club president Nasser Al Khelaifi reportedly clashed over his contract situation. Mbappe, linked with a move to Real Madrid, has refused to sign a new deal with PSG that would extend his stay beyond 2024.

Mbappe, who scored 29 goals in the league, was unhappy with the team's performance and hinted at his desire to leave in an interview with LEquipe. He said he wanted more responsibility and a more significant role in the project, whether at PSG or elsewhere. The striker refused to sign an extension to his contract which led to huge speculation for a transfer move.

The Frenchman was cast out to a group of undesirables after refusing to commit his future to the Ligue 1 champions. He informed his club that he wouldn't be triggering the one-year option in his contract, which led to outrage from the Parisians.  According to Le Parisien, Al Khelaifi told Mbappe in a heated exchange that he would never play for PSG again if he did not agree to the new terms. Mbappe responded by saying, he would be the only president who would not let him play.

According to reports, Al-Khelaifi, very angry, told him: "You'll see! You won't play again! We won't give up!" and the striker replied, "You'll see, what am I going to see? You'll be the only president who won't let me play!"

PSG are determined to keep Mbappe at all costs and has made several lucrative offers to persuade him to stay. The France captain sat out PSG's entire pre-season as speculation over his future took hold. Also absent from the Ligue 1 powerhouses' 0-0 draw with Lorient in their season-opening matchup on August 12 was Kylian Mbappe. It was anticipated that the player would not still be at Parc des Princes when the summer transfer window closed.

However, Mbappe's return to the first team is the result of discussions he had with Paris' top brass. He has resumed training with his teammates, and he might even start against Toulouse on Saturday night.
