Everyone knows that in the development and progress of the career of Abhishek Sharma the one person who’s played such a key part and a central role is none other than Yuvraj Singh. The former all round legend of India has really taken Abhishek Sharma under his wing, guided and mentored him and trained him to become the destructive and confident batter that the Punjab born has today become.

One finds that Abhishek Sharma, widely known for putting a hard whack on the cricket ball has already emerged with 1600 plus T20 international runs from 56 contests for India and no fewer than 2379 IPL runs from 92 matches (and 89 innings).

But despite the fame and the adulation, the prowess in the field as seen with the bat and some quickfire knocks for the Indian side in the shortest format of the sport, there’s no waning at all in terms of the bond and camaraderie between the mentor and his disciple.

 

Abhishek Sharma and Yuvraj Singh get to spend a lot of time as and when the two dashing cricketers can and that’s fine to see even as the young left hander for India is a popular and busy figure in the contemporary annals of the game for the country.

As his bday is on September 4, the two were seen sharing a funny banter of a moment with Yuvraj asking his doting friend Abhishek to do some exercises as part of his fitness regimen and while the young batter was doing that with a cute smile, there was a wonderful message that the Indian great had for his friend.

Yuvraj’s guidance of Abhishek is rather exemplary and shows us that cricket is a selfless contest where it’s not about insularities and readers all the time and that a lot of good happens when ideas are exchanged and bonds are forged with much affection.
