The h ouse of former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh in MDC Sector 4, Panchkula, Chandigarh was robbed after which Singh's mother, Shabnam Singh filed a complaint with Haryana police. The incident saw the theft of INR 75,000 in cash and various pieces of jewellery, regarding which suspicions towards the household staff employed were raised.
The robbery took place six months back when Shabnam Singh returned to Chandigarh after living in Gurgaon since September 2023. As Singh arrived on October 5, she found jewellery valued at approximately INR 75,000 and other items from a cupboard in a first-floor room missing.
House help and cook emerge as key suspects
After attempting to resolve the issue internally with the prime suspects house help Lalita Devi from Saketdi, and the cook, Sildar Pal from Bihar; the matter was reported to the police. Since the robbery, Lalita Devi and Sildar Pal abruptly left their jobs and fled during the Diwali festival period. At present, the MDC police station has registered a case of theft and started an investigation. As per the FIR, property worth a total of Rs 1.75 lakh has been stolen.
Yuvraj Singh to captain New York Superstar Strikers in LCT Season 2
Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was on Wednesday named New York Superstar Strikers captain and icon player for the upcoming Legends Cricket Trophy (LCT) Season 2. In the LCT90BALLS format, five bowlers of each team can bowl three overs. The captain of the bowling team can select one bowler to bowl four overs by the 60th ball.
The franchise confirmed the appointment via a statement, saying, "Yuvraj's addition enriches the squad with a depth of expertise, skill and leadership, fortifying New York Superstar Strikers' readiness to lead in the upcoming edition of the tournament."
