Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has been off cricketing action recently after being snubbed of a place in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) central contract list last year. Following his snub, he hasn’t featured in cricketing matches for the Indian cricket team in the year 2024, including the T20 World Cup, India’s tour of Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, along with other home tours, despite being named in the squad.
However, their hasn’t been any official communication from Chahal or his close members, the rumours are rife that the Indian cricketer and wife Dhanashree Verma are also heading for a separation. These reports just hit the roof after fans noticed that both of them have unfollowed each other on Instagram.

To what might come as a shock after ace Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya and model-actress Natasa Stankovic’s divorce in 2024, the couple also have deleted pictures of each other from the social media handle, Instagram, adding more fuel to the fire. Moreover, a source close to the couple also confirmed that the rumours of their separation are true, and they might head towards a divorce soon.
"The divorce is inevitable, and it's only a matter of time before it becomes official. The exact reasons for their separation are not known yet, but it's clear that the couple has decided to move on with their lives separately,” a source in the known was quoted as saying by the Times of India.
It is to be noted that Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma tied a knot in 2020. Their wedding came as a surprise to many, the two shared a very close bond, both on and off the cricketing field. The actor-choreographer then revealed her love story when she starred in a dance reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Ja 11’ in 2024.
"During the COVID-19 lockdown no matches were happening and all the cricketers were sitting at home and getting frustrated. That's when Yuzi decided to learn dance. He had seen my dance videos on social media and back in the day, I used to teach dance. So he approached me to be my student. I agreed to teach him," Dhanashree added, telling rest remains history. However, the rumours are rife, but this is not the first time that this news has come in.
