Recently, Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has highlighted his friendship with the 36-year-old Indian opener on social media by changing his profile picture.

On Friday, December 15, the joint-record five-time IPL champions, Mumbai Indians announced that Hardik Pandya, who was traded from the Gujarat Titans last month, is set to take the helm as the captain of the Mumbai Indians, succeeding its longest-serving captain Rohit Sharma.
While India and Mumbai Indians star players like Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav shared cryptic posts on social media following the change in captaincy, Yuzvendra Chahal changed his profile picture on X showing his bond with Rohit Sharma. Chahal uploaded a new profile picture, where he can be seen sharing a beautiful moment with Rohit Sharma in the Indian jersey as the duo appeared to hug each other in the picture.
Earlier a report suggested that the Delhi Capitals had approached Mumbai Indians for Rohit's trade as the franchise wanted Rohit Sharma to lead in IPL 2024 with speculations over Rishabh Pant's fitness for the tournament. However, Sports Today's Nikhil Naz reported that Mumbai were not willing to leave their legendary skipper despite replacing him with Hardik in the captaincy role.
