The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is among the most famed sporting leagues in India, dedicated to the game of kabaddi, which originated in the country itself. After being launched in 2014, the PKL has achieved significant growth, while giving a chance to the seasoned and emerging kabaddi players to showcase their skill on the biggest stage possible. PKL features 12 teams from various regions of India, who compete in a round-robin format to make it through to the playoffs, for earning a chance at winning the coveted trophy. Over the last decade or so, the emergence of PKL has helped bring a lot of attention to kabaddi from all over the world, which paved the way to modernise the traditional Indian game. Due to the widespread coverage on TV and digital platforms, the PKL has played a critical role in reviving kabaddi and commercialising it in India and beyond.
