In KL Rahul’s captaincy, LSG qualified for the playoffs in IPL 2022 and 2023 respectively, but after a poor season earlier this year, he decided to part ways with them.
KL Rahul failed to score big and was out for 12 runs in the first Test.
KL Rahul dropped an easy catch of Kiwi skipper Tom Latham in the first Test, which led to disappointing reaction by Indian captain Rohit Sharma.
Both KL Rahul and Sarfaraz Khan have strengthen the Indian middle-order in their recent Test appearances.
The former England batsman quoted “Watching KL Rahul bat in the powerplay is the most boring thing I’ve ever done.”
The couple also got married on January 23 in Sunil Shetty’s home in Lonavala near Mumbai.
The former India pacer also said that he does not consider Rahul among the top three openers in Indian cricket.
“Axar Patel was not available for selection for the first ODI,” BCCI confirmed.
Coming to Rahul’s innings, it was a well-paced half-century from the opening batter.
KL Rahul got out for 36 in 39 balls with a strike rate of 92.31.
Notably, it was Rahul’s fourth ODI as the captain of the side.
